The fourth semester Master of Social Work (MSW) students, specializing in Community Development, of NEISSR, Dimapur, organized webinar on “Role of entrepreneurs in community development in the post-covid socio-economic restorations” on June 19.
The resource persons were CEO, Entrepreneurs Association, Nagaland, Neichute Doulo, Proprietor, Ete coffee, Kohima, Lichan Humtsoe and Dy. Director, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kohima, Er. H Alongse.
A press release by NEISSR, stated that Neichute Doulo, began his talk by differentiating social entrepreneur as “social profit making” business from personal profit-making commercial business entrepreneurs and stressed on the importance of good blend of both business for social, economic and political development of the state. He also shared his experiences and achievements of being a social entrepreneur.
Lichan Humtsoe, briefed the participants about his journey of being an entrepreneur and his company which was the first roasting coffee company in Nagaland.
Er. H. Alongse, in his speech defined entrepreneurs as anyone who was successful in his own business. He delivered four essential tips for future entrepreneurs i.e., do what you love, have a business mentor, start from small, start today and don’t wait for tomorrow.
The release further added that earlier, principal, NEISSR, Dr. Fr. C.P. Anto welcomed all resource persons and participants while emphasizing the need of social entrepreneurship development in Nagaland in solving many problems, contributing to Post-Covid economic recovery efforts.
