Nenghoilhing Hangsing was crowned Miss Nagaland 2015 after she overcame stiff competition from five other contestants Wednesday night at the beauty pageant held at RCEMPA Jotsoma, organized by BASN. Earlier, Nenghoilhing overcame seven contestants at the semi-final round to be among the top five finalists.
When asked, at the final round, on what lessons she learnt as a child that influenced her till today; Nenghoilhing said that despite growing up in a broken home, she learnt to turn negativity of into a positive stride and this taught her to be wiser and more responsible.
Miss Nagaland 2015, who hails from Kohima district, aspires to become an IPS officer. Miss Sumi, Alica Zhimomi was crowned first runners- up while Yangerjungla Pongen from Mokokchung was crowned second runners- up. Nenghoilhin also won Miss Photogenic subtitle, while Yangerjungla Pongen won Miss Perfect 10. Schanchobeni Y Jungio won Miss Talent sub-title and Zehovire Avi Kechu adjudged Queen of Heart sub-title.
Miss World Beauty India 2015 Imlibenla Wati who appeared on stage, highlighted the events of the organizer BASN. Judges included- Miss Nagaland 1998, Tokatoli Shohe as chief judge; YouthNet Strategist Lezo Pusture; DC Mokokchung Sushil Kumar IAS; Mr International 2015 Halley Laithangbam and Miss Nagaland runner up 1999, Bethel Tsuzu. Nenghoilhin will become the state Icon to help spread the importance of clean electoral roll.
