Special Observer and Secretary to Government of Nagaland, Senti Ao, paid a maiden visit to Zunheboto district and held a marathon meeting and interaction with all the stakeholders; concerned individual(s)/ NGOs/ Hohos and several other electoral machineries with regard to the National Electoral Roll Purification & Authentication Program (NERPAP) here in DC’s conference hall, on April 28.
The program was chaired by Chisho K Swu, AEO Zunheboto, whcih began with an introduction, welcome note and keynote address by Temsu Longkumer, Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto.
Senti Ao highlighted on various anomalies, defects, multi entries, double images/ EPIC numbers etc and maintained that NERPAP targeted to achieve “error free & authentic electoral roll” countrywide which began on March 3 and continue till August 15.
He also exhorted and challenged the civil bodies/ NGOs/ organizations etc especially the churches are the most powerful ambassadors which could play vital role to curb the menace of electoral roll since almost all the people in Nagaland are Christians.
The program winded up with an interaction hour. In the interaction SH general secretary, Vihuto Asumi, Akukau Vihoto Chophy, Vechulo L Doulo and various other individuals posed questions on EPIC/ dual e-roll/ EPIC numbers and Aadhar registration (No.666) which has created various confusions amongst the public. All the doubts and clarifications were positively fed back by the Observer, AEO and DC Zunheboto respectively.
The Observer also visited 35 Zunheboto Assembly constituency office accompanied by DC, SDO, AEO and BLOs etc. He left for 31 Akuluto A/C and reportedly headed to Wokha district for the concerned district-wise NERPAP tour.
Sumi Hoho (SH), representatives from various church councils, BJP, Congress, Kukami (GBs), NGOs, district administration officers, media and several other BLOs attended the meeting.
