Networking for NGOs & entrepreneurs

A networking event for NGOs and entrepreneurs was held in Dimapur on Tuesday at Community Health Initiative’s office, Duncan Bosti. The event was organised by the Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM), a joint operation of German Agency for International Cooperation and German Federal Employment Agency from Germany, and a state based Community Health Initiative (CHI).
Presenting a slide-show at the event, CIM advisor, Richa Arora discussed how NGOs and entrepreneurs can seek technical support or volunteers from Germany. She maintained that Indian Diaspora experts could come from Germany to India for a short time to assist in projects or help set business plans, etc. She also explained that these technical experts or volunteers will be supported by the CIM/GIZ program migration for development to strengthen bilateral relations between Germany and India.
CIM returning expert and chairman CHI, Dr. Rhondemo Kikon, who completed his masters in International Health from the University of Heidelberg, presented the vision and mission of CHI. He explained that its mission was to find gaps and their solutions to social challenges in Nagaland through evidence based research, which focuses on improving social health. Dr. Rhondemo also stated that the vision of CHI was a healthier and sustainable Nagaland. He added that CHI will be organising the next event during the German Academic and Exchange Service (DDAD) International alumni workshop on November which will include more stakeholders such as German universities, foundations, etc.
CHI director, Loreni Sophia in her welcome note said that the event was a very new innovative concept and called upon participants to come forward and avail of such opportunities.
The purpose of the event is to build a network and find avenues for future collaboration between the CIM and local NGOs and entrepreneurs.
