The new building of Longtsung Health and Wellness Centre under Sanis block in Wokha district was inaugurated by Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan on April 16, with dedicatory prayer offered by pastor Longtsung Baptist Church, Longshi Mozhui.
A press release from the CMO Office Wokha stated that Yanthan in his speech expressed hope that the new building constructed by him, under Local Area Development Programme, would deliver much desired health care services to people in need at Longtsung.
On seeing the poor condition of the health centre building and dedication of the Community Health Officer, he decided to construct a new building, he informed.
The advisor also appealed to the community to take proper care of the health facility and contribute in its development.
He further requested medical department to provide proper medical equipment’s for the smooth functioning of the Heath Facility.
Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr. Thungchangbemo Ezung in his address, said the medical department was grateful to the advisor for his contribution in construction of health facility and expressed hope that he would continue to extend his support for more such development at other health centres in the district.
Longtsung Village Council chairman, Mathew Mozhui, also thanked the advisor for the new building and hope the health facility will be upgraded in the near future.
The inauguration was attended by ADC Sanis, civil society leaders and line department officials.
