A dedicatory programme for a newly constructed classroom at Government Primary School (GPS), Airfield Colony, Wokha, was held on Wednesday at the school premises.
According to a press release, the classroom was built through contributions from teachers, the School Management Committee (SMC), the colony council, the chairperson of Wokha Town Council, and well-wishers, addressing the school’s shortage of classrooms.
GPS Airfield Colony has shown commendable academic performance in recent years, securing third place in the FLN category in Wokha district in 2023 and producing PSLC toppers in both 2023 and 2024.
The programme was chaired by Loreni, with the dedicatory prayer offered by Deacon of Airfield Colony, Sacheo Patton. Teacher-in-charge Lichan delivered the welcome address, followed by short speeches from SMC chairman Zubemo Ngullie, Airfield Colony Council chairman Vincent Shitiri and Nzan.
Earlier, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by chairman of Airfield Colony Council Vincent Shitiri. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Kumchen Murry and a benediction by deaconess of Airfield Colony Wobeno Enny.
