Advisor of Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan on Tuesday inaugurated the new office building of Directorate of Agriculture below Phezoucha, New Secretariat Kohima. The six-storey building has been constructed at the cost of Rs.15 crore with 60 rooms capacity and spread across 39,878sq.ft.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Yanthan congratulated the department for successful completion of the new office building and expressed the hope that the new building would foster cohesive work culture among the officers and staff and usher in a new area of excellence.
He also encouraged the department to take the ownership of the new office building and work towards in uplifting the department.
Agriculture Production Commissioner, R.Binchilo Thong in his short speech said the new office building was a realisation of a long cherished dream of the department.
Thong said that with the starting of the new office building by next year, decision making will be expedited and therefore encouraged the staffs to create productive decision for the farmers and the state.
Director of Agriculture, M.Ben Yanthan encouraged the staff to work sincerely for the welfare of the department.

Earlier, the new office building was dedicated by Keduoneituo Yhome, pastor Phezoucha Baptist Church New Secretariat, Kohima and the plaque was unveiled by Mhathung Yanthan. The programme was chaired by director M.Ben Yanthan and vote of thanks by additional director, C. Peter Yanthan.
