New Market Youth Organization (NMYO) celebrated its 44 (1973-2017) foundation day on December 10.
A press release by NMYO vice president, Stephen Neitho Solo stated that in his address, chief guest of the programme, president of Angami Youth Organisation (AYO), Neinguvotuo Krose congratulated NMYO on its 44th foundation and lauded the good works of NMYO in various fields in the state capital. He also said that NMYO was one of the oldest youth organisations and should play “a big brother role” in helping other colony youth organisations.
Krose also solicited the support and co-operation of NMYO towards AYO activities in the days and years to come and appealed to all the colonies and wards to come forward in helping the government while carrying out development activities in their respective areas. He announced that AYO will be meeting all the colonies youth organisations of Kohima town next year to discuss various issues.
Delivering a short talk on “in reminiscence”, vice chairman New Market Area Panchayat (NMAP), Akruo Nyusou recalled how the colony was one of the fascinating colonies in the state capital and urged upon the youths to carry forward the good works. Short speeches were also delivered by Chairman NMAP, Kuotsu and former president NMYO, Dr. Pudeli Rhezhü.
Earlier, the function was chaired by Xavier Rutsa, welcome address by president NMYO, Vikholie Yiese, special number by Vithozo and party, invocation prayer and benediction by Neithovi-ü Kuotsu and vote of thanks by general sports committee, Abalie Rhezhii.
