New Peren DC Hq. issue: ZPO resents state commr’s notice

Expressing resentment against state commissioner’s notification for shifting of the office of deputy commissioner (DC) Peren to new site, the Zeliang People’s Organisation (ZPO) Nagaland has said such action was a blatant disregard of the ongoing judicial process in the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench.
In a representation to the Nagaland commissioner, ZPO Nagaland pointed out that the Kohima Bench had in the latest order dated December 4, 2014 constituted a two-member committee “to hold joint inspection of the spot and see the present status of quality of infrastructure” and that the matter was listed for further hearing on February 9, 2015.
The Court order dated December 4, 2014 advised the committee to notify the DC Peren and ZPO general secretary about the proposed date of inspection and submit the report before the court within two months. ZPO reiterated that it has been striving to ensure that the government of Nagaland at least was able to comprehend the immense difficulties “destined to be faced by the general public” in the wake of “an ill-timed shifting” of the office of DC Peren.
ZPO asked what “tag of excellence” could Nagaland government earn by “forcefully and authoritatively” shifting the office of DC Peren to the new site against the appeal of the common people and in contravention of the Court order.
ZPO has therefore requested the government to rectify the ground realities before the ongoing judicial process was over and also before necessary infrastructure was installed to the satisfaction of the concerned people.
