New police station building of Athibung, Peren was inaugurated by director general of police, Nagaland, L.L. Doungel on November 6, in the presence of senior police officers, district administration, leaders of Kuki Inpi and ZKPO, chairman, secretary and GBs of neighboring villages.
A press release by superintendent of police, Peren stated that DGP in his address mentioned that the present of police was not only to prevent crime and maintain law & order, but to provide safe and secure environment so that development activities can take place without hindrance.
He appealed to the general public of Athibung circle to extend co-operation to the police so there could be understanding and good team work for the benefit and progress of the area.
DGP also expressed hope that the new facilities in the police station building would improve the functioning of police in the days to come.
