New rates after fuel excise duty cut

Petrol and diesel price was on Sunday slashed by Rs. 8.69 a litre and Rs. 7.05 per litre respectively. (See table for approximate fuel price)
Rio welcomes decision: While Nagaland government was yet to announce any cut in fuel prices, chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Sunday welcomed Centre’s decision to reduce Central excise duty on petrol and diesel.
In a tweet, Rio thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the “significant step which will provide relief to our citizens.” The government on Saturday announced a record Rs. 8 per litre cut in excise duty on petrol and Rs. 6 per litre reduction on diesel.
