The new office building of the Superintendent of Police, Tseminyu, was inaugurated by chairman DPDB Tseminyu, Ar. Jwenga Seb, on April 17.
Speaking at the inaugural programme as special guest, Seb expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister (Home) Y. Patton for facilitating the construction and timely completion of the office. He also acknowledged their leadership in ensuring transparency and fairness in the recent police constables’ recruitment, stressing that merit-based systems must be encouraged in all recruitment processes in the state.
Director General of Police, Nagaland, Rupin Sharma, in his address, spoke on the limitations of customary laws and urged citizens to make use of the State Police force for problem-solving. He appealed to the public to trust the police and take responsibility by registering crimes.
Earlier, the programme began with a dedicatory prayer by pastor Yhunthonglo Khing of Tseminyu Town Baptist Church, followed by the formal inauguration of the office building by Seb. SP Tseminyu, Talisunep Imchen, delivered the welcome address, while Executive Engineer (PEP) Kohima Division, Jenithung Kikon, presented the technical report. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Additional SP Tseminyu, Lanu Aier.
