New sub-centre inaugurated at Zuvukhu

A new sub-centre building was inaugurated Friday by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur, Dr. I. Moatemjen.

A press release by CMO Dimapur office stated that in his address, Dr. Moatemjen sought community cooperation and support to run the sub-centre. CMO assured that the department would provide all health services, manpower and equipment entitled to a sub-centre, however, he said it was the responsibility of the community to take ownership of the health unit. Dr. Moatemjen said the onus was on the community to ensure that the health unit and its staff was taken care of so that the community would continue to receive quality healthcare.
Highlighting on the challenges and issues faced by the district in COVID-19 management, Dr. Moatemjen sensitized the gathering on the efficacy and safety of COVID-19 vaccine and urged all eligible individuals to get vaccinated. Addressing the rumours/speculations on COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccine, Dr. Moatemjen said under the Pandemic Act, anyone found spreading false information was punishable. Therefore, he urged the public to verify any news or information before further passing on the information. The programme was chaired by pastor Kitoho Aye, invocation was said by pastor Tozheli, welcome speech delivered by head GB, Zuvukhu village, Zhevito Achumi, vote of thanks was delivered by head GB, Nizhevi village, Katovi.
