New team of Longsa Youth Organisation inducted

WOKHA, AUG 8 (NPN): To strengthen its role in community development and encourage greater youth participation in village and district affairs, the Longsa Youth Organisation (LYO) held an induction programme for its newly elected team Saturday at the Longsa Village Community Hall.
The programme was graced by chairman of Longsa Government Employees’ Union, Benri Ezung, as special guest. In his address, Ezung urged the new team to uphold trust, commitment and responsible leadership in carrying out their responsibilities. He reminded that trust takes time and dedication to build but can be lost through a single mistake, and therefore called upon the youth to work with sincerity and proper coordination with other village bodies.
Describing youth as a powerful force in society, he said they play an important role in questioning and redirecting authorities when necessary. However, he cautioned against over ambition and encouraged them to consult elders and draw from their wisdom. He further stressed the need for a change in mindset, urging the younger generation to strive for better and keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
Appreciating the organisation’s efforts to document and highlight the village’s heritage through its booklet, he termed heritage preservation an important responsibility and encouraged the youth to remain connected to their roots while working for community progress.
Speaking on behalf of the new team, LYO president Y. Limhathung Ezung thanked the people for their confidence and assured that he would discharge his responsibilities with dignity. He called for collective responsibility, stressing the need to stand together and face challenges collectively.
The newly elected team comprises:president: Y. Limhathung Ezung; vice president: A. Amos Ezung; general secretary: Wobenthung T. Humtsoe along with nine executive members.
