NEWJU, KPC hold coordination meeting

North East Working Journalists’ Union (NEWJU) and Kohima Press Club (KPC) held a coordination meeting Tuesday at KPC Office, Kohima. A press release by KPC stated that NEWJU team comprised of its president, Ratul Borah, advisor, Sumesh Deka, and assistant general secretaries, Jitu Kalita, and Narayan Bahadur.


Highlighting the purpose of the meeting, Sumesh Deka said, “The people of north east states must unite through journalism.”
Asserting that working together can resolve a lot of existing problems, he also deliberated on unitedly working together for the welfare of working journalists in the region.


While citing the ethnic problems in the region, he asserted the need for unity and work together to unitedly solve “our problems ourselves.”
NEWJU president, Ratul Borah also reiterated the need for journalists in the region to come together so they could take up common issues such as the pension scheme among others for journalists. KPC president, Alice Yhoshü also expressed solidarity and support to the NEWJU. Jitu Kalita, and Narayan Bahadur also spoke on the occasion.
