NFA approves NSL charter, announces Dr. T Ao Trophy dates

DIMAPUR, AUG 1 (NPN): The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) held its Annual General Body Meeting 2026 at its office in Kohima on July 31 under the chairmanship of NFA president K. Neibou Sekhose. Representatives from 15 of the 17 affiliated District Football Associations (DFAs) attended the meeting.
In his opening address, Sekhose commended the DFAs that had successfully conducted their district leagues and those preparing to organise theirs. He also acknowledged the support extended by the district associations and the state government in ensuring a successful football season in Nagaland.
The NFA president announced that the 25th edition of the Dr. T. Ao Inter-District Football Championship, to be hosted by Mokokchung District Football Association, will be held from October 12 to 31. He informed the house that player registrations would close by the end of September to facilitate timely completion of formalities and urged all DFAs to extend their full cooperation in making the silver jubilee edition of the tournament a success.
During the meeting, members unanimously approved the Nagaland Super League (NSL) Charter governing its Governing Council and Management Committee, which has been framed in accordance with the regulations of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
The association also formally handed over its approval to Wokha District Football Association’s proposal to host the 6th Nagaland Futsal Club Championship in 2027.
The meeting further resolved that all affiliated DFAs would observe Futsal Day in their respective districts on August 15 in accordance with AIFF directives.
