NFA to join Olympic Day 2026 tree plantation drive

DIMAPUR, JUN 22 (NPN): The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) has informed all District Football Associations (DFAs) that it will participate in a tree plantation drive on June 23, at Reiphinyü Badze, Vürie, Kohima, beginning at 11:00 AM.
The initiative is being organized in collaboration with the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) as part of the observance of Olympic Day 2026 and in support of the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Forest Initiative, which promotes environmental sustainability and the broader ecological goals of the Olympic movement.
As part of the programme, a total of 2,036 saplings will be planted, symbolizing a collective commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The NFA has requested all affiliated District Football Associations to depute at least one representative each to participate in the event and contribute towards the success of the initiative. The association stated that the participation of the football fraternity would demonstrate its support for environmental stewardship and community engagement.
The circular was issued jointly by NFA Joint Secretary Chenonlo Woch and President K. Neibou Sekhose.
