NFMP holds annual review meetings in Peren and Mon

Divisional Management Units (DMUs) under the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), conducted their annual review meetings in Peren and Mon divisions to assess progress, achievements and challenges of project activities.
In Peren division, the two-day review meeting was held on April 9–10 at the Forest Resource Centre, Jalukie. The programme reviewed activities undertaken during the past year and strategized for upcoming implementation phases. Presentations were delivered by ADMU-cum-FMU Head of Peren Range, Jongponglemba, FMU Head of Tening Range, Punseni Khing, and FNGO C-CERP team leader, Liangsi Niumai, highlighting activities carried out during 2025–2026. Feedback sessions from project villages saw representatives of Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMCs) and Self Help Groups (SHGs) shared experiences, challenges and success stories, followed by interactive discussions to strengthen coordination.
In Mon division, the annual review meeting was held on April 10. DMU Head-cum-Divisional Forest Officer, H. Tokugha Chophy, outlined objectives and targets of ongoing NFMP activities, including forestry interventions and SHG income-generating activities across Batch I–IV villages. He also briefed participants on outcomes and challenges at the divisional level.
Representing the district administration, EAC Mon, Kedoseno Rino, commended the Forest Department’s efforts and the active involvement of communities in forest conservation and income-generating activities. She encouraged sustainable forest management practices to safeguard resources for future generations and urged JFMCs and SHGs to work closely with the department for successful execution of grassroots projects.
PowerPoint presentations of annual activities were delivered by DMU staff, FMU staff and FNGO, followed by feedback and interactive sessions with JFMC chairpersons and SHG representatives. The meeting was chaired by Capacity Building, IEC and Documentation Expert, Ponglih T.
