Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) and Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) have welcomed decision of Government of India (GoI) for inviting Working Committee (WC) of the six NNPGs for talks.
In a statement, NGBF president Shaleem Konyak, general secretary Shikuto Zalipu and I&P secretary Akhu Naga have extended appreciation to GoI under Narendra Modi in responding to the plea of the federation for inclusion of all groups in the ongoing talk for permanent peace settlement.
The federation has also acknowledged the conviction and seriousness of the GoI representative and interlocutor for Naga talks, R.N. Ravi to solve the decades old Naga issue.
“NGBF also very grateful for his hospitality and generosity shown to the Guonburas while meeting Prime Minister in New Delhi on 3rd August”, the statement added.
Further, GB federation expressed gratefulness to the Government of Nagaland for facilitating the ongoing Naga talks in a serious manner and appealed to continue till the final solution is arrived.
ENPO: Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) through its media cell said that the initiative of the Government of India in inviting the six NNPGs “is ground-breaking with much optimism towards political consensus as desired by the people in the protracted Indo-Naga political issue”. ENPO was hopeful that the peace process will contribute and accelerate towards bringing a meaningful dialogue and a lasting solution acceptable to all stakeholders.
Therefore, ENPO has appealed to the remaining Naga Political Groups (NPGs) to participate in the honorable peace process.
