Nagaland Goan Bura Federation (NGBF) has expressed appreciation to the government of India and the Naga political groups for resuming the Naga peace talks, saying it has brought “refreshing hope” amidst atmosphere of “doubt and uncertainty.”
In a press release, NGBF president Shalem Konyak, general secretary Shikuto Zalipu and media secretary Akhu Naga said the Naga people were expecting the early solution to the Naga political problem, but the current COVID-19 pandemic has brought every activity to a standstill.
NGBF has, however, asserted that the resumption of talks has “triggered us to believe once again the sincerity and commitment of negotiations parties.”
In this regard, NGBF has appealed to the government of India and the Naga political groups to “avoid all sorts of confrontation that led to bloodshed.”
“Let us respect the hard earned peace process and agreements, our humble request to shun violence.
The federation also requested Nagas not to stray away from peace process, but give all out support to solve the long pending issue.
Meanwhile, NGBF has expressed gratitude to the state governor RN Ravi and the state government for upgrading the Noklak Sub-Division to a full-fledged district. NGBF also congratulated the people of Noklak and wished them good luck.
