NGRC-I CU for early Naga solution; appeals government

Nagaland Government Registered Class-I Contractors’ Union (NGRC-I CU) members during its annual meeting resolved to support Naga Peace talk and also passed several resolutions for the welfare of the union.

A press release by NGRC-1 CU president, Seyiekuolie and vice president, S. Bendang Jamir informed that the resolutions were passed during its annual meeting -cum -advent Christmas celebration held on November 29 at the Conference Hall of NGRC-1 CU, Nagaland Civil Secretariat road, Kohima.

NGRC-1 CU said it resolved to support Naga Peace talk for an early honourable solution with a demand to strengthen the Article 371 A of Indian Constitution in letter and in spirit. 

The union has also appealed the state government to issue a directive to disqualify any contractor who quotes below the Schedule of Rate (SOR) during the tender process. 

NGRC-1 CU has asked the state government to release the pending bills of “genuine contractors” who has successfully completed the project. 

The union has also requested the members to apply for identity card through the union office, which is issued by the government during the office hour. It has informed that the office will remain closed from December 16 and re-open on January 13.

NGRC-1 CU has formed a nomination committee for the selection of a new team of office-bearers with K.C.Angami as convenor, S. Bendang Jamir as member secretary and Pfuduolhou Kense as member.  

Meanwhile, NGRC-1 CU celebrated Advent Christmas with Kezhokhoto Savi, Advocate as speaker. The service was conducted by the vice-president while S. Bendang Jamir and the union treasurer Krosal Neikha said the invocation.
