Nagaland Garo Tribal Council (NGTC) strongly condemned the kidnapping of VDB secretary Khelma village Athibung, Peren district, Lalneineiw, son of Neithanglen Saiph on November 25 by some unknown miscreants who had demanded a ransom of Rs. 15 lakhs.
In a press release issued by NGTC president, Biplab K. Sangma has expressed shock over the incident and termed it as barbaric and devilish act which has no place in the civilized society. It said that the act has not only stolen away the peace and happiness of the family but also created fear psychosis within the public of the area. It further appealed the kidnappers for the unconditional release of the boy at the earliest in true Christian spirit and expressed solidarity and prayed for peace of mind among the family members.
