State government has informed that the stretch of road from Chathe River Bridge (Patkai Bridge) to Kukidolong has been closed from February 2, onwards till further orders in view of heavy rockslides between Chümoukedima police check post and New Chümoukedima village.
In an advisory, the home department stated that anyone wishing to travel from Dimapur to Kohima/Manipur in a light/medium vehicle could take the alternative route via 7th Mile (Chümoukedima)-New DC office-Shokhuvi-Razaphe-Mhaikam-Pimla-Mhainamtsi-Jhornapani/Medziphema and vice versa, adding heavy vehicles would not be permitted to travel on this route.
The home department has, therefore, advised making arrangements for moving all the heavy vehicles carrying essential commodities towards Kohima and Manipur; through Merapani-Doyang-Wokha (NH -2)-Kohima route.
It informed that those heavy vehicles coming from north of Assam bound for Kohima and beyond could also take the same route.
