Following massive landslides that occurred on June 26 and 27 from KM 0.0 to KM 16.592 between Changtongya and Longleng on NH-702, the Mokokchung district administration has imposed total restriction on movement of all kinds of vehicles on the stretch with immediate effect.
In a travel advisory, deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung Thsuvisie Poji said the clearance of debris was likely to take around four to five days.
Advising travellers to avoid taking the route, he suggested them to take the alternative route – Longleng-Chingtok (IR Camp)-Netnyu, Merangkong – during this period.
