NH projects diversion issue settled: TMLAJC

Tobu-Mopong-Longching Area Joint Committee (TMLAJC) for NH-702 and 702B, which had been opposing purported diversion of NH702 and NH 702B, has stated that the minister of PWD (National Highways) has assured in principal to go ahead with the work as per the report of the agencies studying feasibility and also to prepare the detail project report (DPR).
In a press release, committee convener, Aknyu Konyak, co-convener, A.M Kaiba Konyak and secretary, Hongnaw H.A Konyak, stated that the minister gave assurance during the joint sitting on August 31 at his official residence in the presence of the engineers.
The committee expressed gratitude to the minister of NPWD (NH) and the engineers of the department for understanding the grievances of the people to construct the proposed two NH in its areas.
According to TMLAJC, the government admitted the error made in the item notification inviting tenders (NIT) where NH-702D was wrongly recorded as NH-702B and assured to make the hard copies available with the corrected version.
Meanwhile, the committee has assured all possible help and co-operation with the state government and the implementing agencies.
Further, TMLAJC also appealed to the Konyak Union, intellectuals and all stakeholders to stand by the “dedicated and competent” minister and the department with unconditional support and work together while executing the project.
