NHHDC meet stresses on artisan empowerment

Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) Ltd. held its 2nd one-day Annual Conference of officers on April 9 at the Conference Hall, NHHDC Head Office Complex, Dimapur.
The conference aimed to review ongoing initiatives, strengthen coordination among officers, and deliberate strategies for growth and promotion of the handloom and handicrafts sector in the state.
According to a press release, guest of honour and chairman of NHHDC Ltd., Prasilie Pienyu, in his address emphasized the importance of collective efforts in empowering artisans and preserving traditional crafts.
He described the conference as a vital platform to review achievements and address challenges, while appreciating the initiatives of the managing director in organizing capacity-building programmes. He further encouraged officers to remain sincere, responsible and dedicated in their duties. Managing director of NHHDC Ltd., Er. Y. Lipongse Thongtsar, in his keynote address highlighted policy directions, innovation, and effective implementation of schemes for the benefit of weavers and artisans.
A key highlight of the conference was the detailed presentations by emporium managers, who shared performance reports, achievements and challenges of their respective emporiums.
Section heads from the head office also presented reports on their departments, outlining progress, key activities and future plans.
