NHPS revises registration norms for CMHIS beneficiaries

DIMAPUR, NOV 4 (NPN): Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) has revised registration procedures under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), discontinuing emergency approval for general category beneficiaries while retaining the provision for employee and pensioner category beneficiaries.
According to an office memorandum issued by NHPS on October 31, the provision for emergency approval under the CMHIS general category shall stand discontinued. However, the emergency approval mechanism would continue to remain applicable to beneficiaries registering under the CMHIS employee and pensioner category.
The memorandum has also laid down revised provisions for the registration of single-member households under both CMHIS (EP) and CMHIS (GC). As per the revised guidelines, registration of single-member households would not ordinarily be permitted.
However, in cases where an individual is the sole member of a household, registration may be considered subject to the submission of an affidavit sworn before a notary public or magistrate.
The affidavit must be based on a declaration issued by the chairman of the village council, ward chairman or GB, as applicable. It is mandatory for applicants to upload the affidavit at the time of registration for verification and approval.
The revised provisions took effect from the date of issue of the memorandum.
