NHSRC team assesses Dimapur Health Centers

DIMAPUR: The Executive Director of the National Health Systems Resource Center (NHSRC), Maj Gen (Prof) Atul Kotwal, along with his team, visited UPHC Duncan Bosti and District Hospital Dimapur on May 21 to evaluate their standards.
This visit followed his earlier tour of health centers and villages in Kohima district.
According to a press release from the IEC Bureau, CMO Dimapur, UPHC Duncan Bosti was specifically chosen for the visit due to its achievement of National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification.
During the visit, Maj Gen (Prof) Kotwal interacted with medical staff, ASHAs, and HCMC members. The staff emphasized the need for diagnostic equipment, while ASHAs shared their experiences and expressed hopes for higher incentives. He assured them that efforts were underway to increase incentives and agreed to explore providing an X-ray machine.
Later, the team visited District Hospital Dimapur, where Maj Gen (Prof) Kotwal inspected various facilities, including the ICU, SNCU/NCU unit, dialysis unit, maternity ward, blood bank, emergency room, OPD, and the ongoing ramp construction. He engaged with medical staff and discussed challenges highlighted by Medical Superintendent Dr. Kuveduyi and Senior Specialist Dr. Toska.
He commended the UPHC Duncan Bosti team for their dedication in maintaining a well-functioning facility with strong community participation and comprehensive healthcare services.
The visiting team included members from Regional Resource Center-NE, Guwahati, such as Dr. Ajay Kumar Arya, Dr. Devajit Bora, and Bhaswat Das, along with state officials Dr. Manyau Phom, Dr. Kheshika Yepthom, and Kevin. The Dimapur team was led by CMO Dimapur, Dr. T. Temsu Lkr, along with DPO (RCH/UIP) Dr. Rongsennungla and other DPMU staff members.
