NHSS Tobu declares Jubilee Year

DIMAPUR

Newman Higher Secondary School (NHSS), Tobu, marked the beginning of its golden jubilee year with an inaugural ceremony on August 5, presided over by Principal Rev. Fr. Kevishi Solomon.
The programme included symbolic events such as the lighting of the Jubilee Candle and the reading of Holy Scripture, followed by tribute and prayers for pioneers, benefactors, and former members of the school community.
The school, founded in 1976 and administered by the Diocese of Kohima, will celebrate its 50th anniversary on January 8, 2026. It continues to play a vital role in shaping lives in the Tobu area, having served as a beacon of education and transformation for decades.
On August 4, a coordination meeting was held with community leaders to chart the preparatory course for the upcoming celebration.
Several leaders shared emotional reflections and reaffirmed their support to make the Jubilee a memorable event.
The school has overcome challenges of remote geography and limited infrastructure to become a cradle of excellence, producing officers, educators, and community leaders who contribute meaningfully to society.
Principal Solomon urged faculty and students to embrace the Jubilee spirit as a time of reconciliation and gratitude, appealing for continued support and blessings from the people of Tobu-Moka.
