The Northeast India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) concluded its first bi-annual friendly league between Club NIAPA and Mizoram under the theme “Beyond Borders, Within the Game” at the NIAPA mini stadium, Chümoukedima, on Wednesday evening.
The two-day event was organised with the objective of fostering sportsmanship, providing exposure, and strengthening inter-state friendship through competitive play. It also offered club players a professional platform to showcase their talent and gain valuable match experience.
In the singles final, Fela defeated Sanga to emerge champion, while Zuia and Bena secured third and fourth positions respectively. In the open doubles event, the pair of Fela and Shepika overcame Jenny and Khama 3–1 to claim the title. Bena and Kethovi finished third, while Nana and Vicky took fourth place.
On the opening day, Team Double R clinched the team event title, securing 14 points across league fixtures, while Team Z finished runners-up with 12 points. Team Zoga and Team Topspin claimed third and fourth positions respectively.
The singles and doubles champions received a cash prize of Rs. 12,000, while the runners-up were awarded Rs. 8,000. For the team championship, the winning side bagged Rs. 20,000, and the second-placed team received Rs. 15,000.
It may be mentioned that the NIAPA mini stadium, located at Agri Expo premises, Chümoukedima, is an exclusive mini Table Tennis stadium.
