Niathu Group to host 6th Niathu Sports Festival from Oct 9–11

DIMAPUR, SEP 17 (NPN)

DIMAPUR, SEP 17 (NPN): The Niathu Group of Hotels & Resorts has announced that the 6th edition of the Niathu Sports Festival will be held on October 9–11, 2025, at Zone Niathu by The Park and Noune Resort.
One of Nagaland’s most anticipated community sporting events, the festival aims to bring together athletes, enthusiasts, families, and well-wishers for a celebration of sports, culture and togetherness.
The festival, organised as part of Niathu Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), is presented this year by the Niathu Privilege Club and powered by Mahindra Apex Motors. According to the organisers, the partnership is expected to add strength, energy and reach to the event.
Launched with the vision of “celebrating youth through sports,” the Niathu Sports Festival has grown into a platform for discovering grassroots talent, promoting active lifestyles and fostering unity across districts. Competitions this year will feature futsal, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, badminton, Niathu Run, Naga wrestling, and the much-awaited MMA Fight Night organised by Tribe Fighting Championship.
Speaking about the festival, Niathu Group chairman, Kechangulie Rio, said sports had the power to go beyond the field, uniting communities, inspiring discipline and nurturing leadership. “With the Niathu Sports Festival, we are committed to providing a platform where every participant—whether a young student or a professional athlete—can feel valued and celebrated. This initiative, as part of our CSR, is about giving back to the community and creating a healthier, stronger future,” he said.
Basu Damani, representing Niathu Privilege Club, said members were delighted to present this year’s festival. “It is our way of contributing to a cause that not only promotes sports but also strengthens community ties and supports the youth,” he stated.
David Murry, CEO of Mahindra Apex Motors, expressed pride in being associated with the festival. “Mahindra has always stood for resilience, performance and excellence—values that align closely with the spirit of this festival. Together, we aim to drive positive change by supporting sports and nurturing the next generation,” he said. The Niathu Group, a leading hospitality brand in Nagaland, is recognised for its commitment to excellence, community development and cultural promotion. Through its properties across the state and initiatives such as the Niathu Sports Festival, the Group has sought to shape Nagaland’s hospitality landscape while creating platforms that uplift people, culture and community.
