Nehru Yuva Kendra is conducting a National Integration Camp at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhandari, from February 26 till March 2 with participants from the States of Punjab, West Bengal, Bihar and Nagaland.
Mmhonlumo Kikon, MLA, who was scheduled to grace the inaugural programme, expressed his inability due to unavoidable circumstances. Commander 17 C Coy Assam Rifle, Major, Deepak Rathore graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Speaking at the function, Major Rathore exhorted the participants that though we belong to various culture, tradition and ethnicity, we accept the diversity in its uniqueness. He said that India with different cultures, races, creed, castes, languages, religion, region and custom yet have been living together as brothers and sisters without difficulties and problems which marvels the rest of the world.
The chief guest said value, love, tolerance and kindness should reign supreme in our lives.
DYC, NVK, Wokha, John Makhabo, also delivered short speech during the inaugural function. A week long integration camp would witness cultural folk songs, cultural dances, exhibitions and seminars.
