Night curfew along border area

As a precautionary measure, additional district magistrate (Adm) Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6pm to 6am in the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland with effect from November 18, 2021 for a period of 60 days.

According to DIPR report, the curfew has been imposed to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements, extremist, unlawful activities along the border belt of Sivasagar district. 

The order has prohibited movement of any person, group or vehicular traffic during the period. However, magistrate, security personnel of army, CRPF, police and civil officials deployed on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
