Night curfew

Sivasagar district administration imposed night curfew from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the 5-km belt on Assam side bordering Nagaland, for a period of sixty days with effect from August 18, to detect suspicious movement of anti-social elements, informed SP Mokokchung.
SP Mokokchung Meren Jamir in a press release said the areas under prohibitory order include Halwating, Geleky, Nazira, Simalguri, Sonari and Sapekhati police station of Assam-Nagaland border.
