Nikki Sumi-led NSCN (K) through its MIP has cautioned all transporters/transport agencies to desist from all association with “Mughavi Zhimo”, tatar of Khango-led NSCN (K) and vice president of “Nagaland Transport Association”, for allegedly collecting money from transporters in the name of different factions, including Nikki-led NSCN(K) , for personal benefit.
In a statement, NSCN (K) accused Mughavi of having collected crore of rupees from transporters under the pretext of operating as middleman for different groups. MIP said Mughavi took the money but never submitted to the various groups on whose names he used for collection.
It said Mughavi allegedly used cash collected in “purchase of lands in and around Dimapur and one plot in Zunheboto district worth Rs. 8 crore for setting up a village in his name, besides constructing a palatial house at Thilixu village.”
MIP said that in the name of Naga national groups, Mughavi was taking Rs. 36,000 per entry from every truck entering Naga-inhabited areas and asked what he did with such a huge amount?.
It also clarified that at no point of time had NSCN(K) authorised Mughavi to collect money at its behest.
It stated that Mughavi is an active member of Khango-led NSCN (K) and therefore, there was no question of authorising him to collect money on its behalf.
MIP also alleged that Mughavi was collecting monthly protection money from transporters and also on behalf of NNPGs, but did not submit the amount to the groups concerned.
In order to seek shelter for his wrongdoings after he was found misusing the money collected in the name of national workers, MIP said Mughavi joined the Khango faction in 2020 with a back-dated appointment order.
“Activities of such self-vested individuals are tarnishing the good image of national workers and, ultimately, the national workers are getting the blame. Therefore, all right-thinking citizens must be aware of such unscrupulous actions of such-vested interest individuals in the name of national workers,” the release appealed.
It also cautioned Mughavi to immediately cease all his unlawful activities otherwise, it would be compelled to initiate befitting action against him as per the Azha.
The group also warned that transporters and businessmen dealing with Mughavi for any financial matter would be doing so at their own risk.
