NIPF urges Supongmeren to back ILP implementation

DIMAPUR

A team from the Nagaland Indigenous Peoples Forum (NIPF), led by president Dr T. Lima Jamir, met Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir at Kohima Congress Bhavan on Saturday to raise concerns related to the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) and alleged benami land transactions by non-indigenous individuals in the state.
The NIPF delegation included general secretary Kikheto Sumi, finance secretary Arila Sangtam and executive member Joseph Mukhu.
During the meeting, the Forum requested the MP to ensure smooth implementation of ILP in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland, without interference from any political group or individual.
In response, MP Supongmeren assured his full support for protecting the rights of indigenous people and said he would continue to work for their welfare.
