Nissan TEKTON launched in Dimapur; premium SUV entry into Nagaland

DIMAPUR, AUG 12 (NPN): Nissan Motor India unveiled its all-new premium SUV, the TEKTON, at Nili Nissan, Purana Bazar, Dimapur on Wednesday, marking the brand’s entry into Nagaland’s competitive premium SUV market. The launch event was graced by Commissioner of Excise, H. Atokhe Aye, as chief guest, alongside Nissan officials and local dignitaries.
Key features of the TEKTON includes two turbocharged petrol variants – T160 (100 PS, 166 Nm) and T280 (163 PS, 280 Nm). The T280 offers both manual and six-speed DCT automatic transmission. Nissan’s GT-R-derived Mirror Bore Coating enhances efficiency and performance.
Inspired by the Nissan Patrol, featuring a bold silhouette, Patrol-style grille, C-shaped LED headlamps and connected LED tail lamps. It has 212 mm ground clearance, SUV proportions and approach/departure angles suited for varied ter rains. Boot space up to 700 liters. It contains premium leatherette finishes, bespoke stitching, Active Comfort Seats, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 48-colour mood lighting and Arkamys 3D Surround Sound. It has 10.1-inch Tek-Link infotainment with Google built-in, 10.25-inch digital cockpit, My NISSAN App with 55+ connected features.
In its safety, it has 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, six airbags standard, 40+ safety features, Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind spot warning and 360° parking assist.
NMIPL representative, Dipjyoti Deka, emphasized TEKTON as one of Nissan’s most awaited products in Nagaland, combining style, power and practicality. He highlighted Nissan’s 75-year SUV heritage, beginning in 1951 and described TEKTON as a “proper SUV” suited for both plains and hilly terrain.
Nili Nissan sales consultant, Rohit Ahmed detailed the performance of both T160 and T280 variants, stressing their suitability for Nagaland’s diverse road conditions. He noted the TEKTON’s intelligent driving technologies and connectivity features as key selling points.
The programme was hosted by Eva Rongmei, with invocation by Pastor Joseph Jeriel. Performances included Sunep Lemtur with Abhishek Baruah. Vote of thanks was delivered by Chipitoli, CRE, Nili Nissan Service.
The price range starts from Rs. 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Dimapur) for the base T160 manual, up to Rs. 18.59 lakh for the top-end T280 DCT.
First 10,000 bookings include five-year maintenance benefits. Nissan Finance offers 5.55% interest rate, along with loyalty and exchange programs.
The TEKTON’s launch positions Nissan strongly in Nagaland’s premium SUV segment, offering a blend of turbocharged performance, premium interiors, advanced connectivity and robust safety. With its Patrol-inspired styling and versatile engineering, the TEKTON is expected to appeal to customers seeking a commanding yet practical SUV for both urban and hilly terrains.
