DIMAPUR: A ten-day, National Integration Tour (NIT) for the students of Jalukie organized by Assam Rifles concluded on February 24 with a flag in programme held at Jalukie. The tour was flagged in by Brig Shivakant Shukla. Addressing the gathering, Brig Shivakant Shukla, emphasized the importance of such tours in the lives of students, highlighting the role they play in fostering unity, understanding, and a sense of national pride.
During the tour, students had the opportunity to interact with local communities, engage in cultural exchanges, and participate in educational activities aimed at promoting mutual respect and understanding. During the tour, the students visited cultural heritage of Shillong, Guwahati and Kolkata.
The major highlight of the tour was a special interactions with Lt Gen Pradeep Chandran Nair, Director General of Assam Rifles and Dr C. V. Ananda Bose, Governor, West Bengal. It may be noted that NIT was part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to promote national unity and integration through educational initiatives and cultural exchange.
