NIT Nagaland awarded PAIR grant by ANRF

In a remarkable achievement that underscores the rising academic and research profile of the region, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland has been selected as a Spoke Institution under the prestigious Partnerships for Accelerated Innovation and Research (PAIR) grant scheme, awarded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India.

Selected through a highly competitive national process that involved top-ranking institutions as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), NIT Nagaland’s inclusion in the PAIR program highlights its growing reputation as a centre of research excellence and innovation.

The institute will be part of a national hub-and-spoke research network anchored by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, one of the seven designated hubs under the initiative.

This selection comes with a substantial funding support of Rs. 10 crore, which will enable NIT Nagaland to undertake advanced, interdisciplinary research in priority areas. Under the PAIR project, the institute will focus specifically on the vertical “Advanced Materials and Manufacturing.” Under the dynamic leadership of Director Prof. (Dr.) A. Elayaperumal, the institute has demonstrated consistent progress in its research ecosystem.

The ANRF-PAIR initiative aims to strengthen India’s research ecosystem by fostering collaboration among leading academic institutions, enabling capacity building, and facilitating infrastructure sharing and mentorship.

This achievement not only brings national-level recognition to NIT Nagaland but also represents a proud moment for the entire Northeast region. It opens exciting opportunities for transformative research, impactful collaborations, and scientific contributions that resonate across India and the global research landscape.
