The Senior Men’s Inter District Tournament 2026 witnessed commanding performances from Niuland and Chumoukedima, who registered strong victories in their respective league matches on Tuesday.
At Sovima Cricket Ground, Niuland overcame Kohima by 84 runs. Batting first, Niuland posted 201 all out in 48.3 overs, with Afzal (44) and Shamwang Wangnao (31) contributing crucial runs. Kohima’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Thupuluzo Lohe, who claimed 4/45, while Kelhousilie Kodh and Solomon Awungshi picked up two wickets each.
In reply, Kohima faltered at 117 all out in 32.4 overs, despite Awungshi’s fighting 45. Niuland’s bowlers dominated, with Hokaito Zhimomi taking 3/48, supported by Saurav Kumar (2/16) and Anil Gupta (2/21). Zhimomi was named Player of the Match.
Meanwhile, at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chumoukedima chased down Dimapur’s challenging total of 254/8 with ease, winning by seven wickets. Dimapur’s innings was anchored by a brilliant 126 from Hem, while Sanjay added 37. Chumoukedima’s bowlers Imliwati (3/38) and Mughavi Sumi (2/34) kept the scoring in check.
In response, Chumoukedima reached 257/3 in 47.2 overs, powered by Aloto Sumi’s match-winning 118 and Sede’s 92 in a dominant partnership. Aloto was adjudged Player of the Match.
