Niuland District Health Society (DHS) held its first meeting at Deputy Commissioner (DC) Conference Hall, Niuland, on October 12. The Niuland DHS was constituted on October 11, under the chairmanship of DC Niuland, Sara S. Jamir.
In a press release, chief medical officer Dimapur, Dr. Limatula Aier, sensitized members on the number of health units under Niuland, National Health Programmes, that were implemented in the district and other various health schemes implemented and availed by beneficiaries of the district. She also highlighted issues in providing financial benefits to all beneficiaries due to non-availability of bank accounts and Aadhar cards.
Dr. Aier further highlighted various ways in which line departments can converge and support health department and vice versa. Chairing the meeting, ADC Niuland, Athsangla, highlighted the constitution of the society and also oriented members on roles and responsibilities of the members.
During the meeting, the house also decided to come up with Line of Actions and Responsibilities for allied departments to facilitate in better enhancing health care delivery system in the district and present in next DHS meeting.
