Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) has called upon all the denominations in Nagaland to organize prayer vigil from October 27 (Sunday), which would culminate with a day of fasting and prayer on November 2, 2019 from 7am to 12 noon.
In a press release, NJCF president Rev. Dr. Keyho has urged every denomination to encourage all the members to go to the church for prayer. The forum stated that fasting and prayer day would culminate with everyone coming out to a strategic-designated place in the town and in the village for a concluding prayer.
Meanwhile, highlighting some of prayer points for Sunday (October 27, 2019), NJCF has urged all to pray for peaceful solution, pray for Naga leaders negotiating with the Government of India that God would give them Wisdom and understanding; pray that Naga leaders would be humble and forgiving and listen to the voice of God and the people; that Naga leaders would come together face to face and sort of the differences to salvage the situation; that God would grant patience and wisdom to both the government of India and the Nagas to understand and honour each other; pray that government of India would be considerate and mindful of the wish of the Nagas and not use force at this time of Naga history; pray for Interlocutor for God’s wisdom and patience; pray for the Prime Minister of India that God would give him the wisdom to tackle the critical situation with patience and understanding and lastly pray that there would be no more bloodshed in the land of Nagas.
For seven days (October 27 to November 2), NJCF has requested every church in Nagaland to pray for mutual respect and understanding among political groups at this critical situation.
“We must make our desire known to God once again. And this we must do in all sincerity and not just to fulfil the call to fast and pray,” NJCF stated.
NJCF has also requested the state government to declare particular day as a day of fasting and prayer.
