NLA speaker meets Birla; discusses CPA Plenary preparations

DIMAPUR, OCT 5 (NPN)

Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer called on Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in Delhi on October 4 and briefed him on the preparations underway for the forthcoming Plenary Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-III, scheduled to be held in Kohima in November 2025.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed key matters related to the CPA India Region Zone-III and the North East Regional Parliamentary Studies, Training and Research Centre.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed his keen interest in visiting Nagaland and assured his presence and support for the upcoming conference. He conveyed hope that Speakers and legislators from the North Eastern states would utilize the platform to deliberate on pertinent policy matters and regional issues requiring attention and review by the Centre.
Birla also congratulated the Nagaland Legislative Assembly for taking the initiative to host the Plenary Conference after many years and extended his best wishes for its successful conduct.
