Nagaland Congress (NLC) alleged excess appointments of non-locals in the power department and questioned the mode of appointments.
NLC media cell reproduced what it claimed were facts and figures with regard to regularized, non regularized and contractual appointments in power department (as of 8/10/2016), based on RTI reply furnished by office of Chief Engineer: Transmission and Generation. (See Table)
From the above, NLC said everyone would know that the department had blatantly lied by withholding facts that there was not a single case of direct appointment.
NLC said 19% of total employees in Power department were non-locals and that they were third highest number employees in the department.
Apart from 15% of total fresh appointment done through NPSC & DSC, NLC alleged that that “all appointments (save promotion)” by the department was direct appointment or backdoor appointment.”
“The silence of government or department, be it Police Department or PWD (H) is explicit acceptance of the stated facts, thereby leaving no scope to further substantiate those with more empirical evidences,” NLC stated.
However, NLC said being silent would not acquit the guilty or appease the exploited sections in any manner. Whether or not government or concerned department react responsibly, NLC said it would keep coming out with more facts at least for citizens to react responsibly before it was too late.
