Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) on Thursday called upon chief minister, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu and reminded the latter of its memorandum submitted to the former chief minister pertaining to setting up of Government Law College and separate High Court.
A press note by NLSF vice president, Yuwang Konyak and speaker Nungshimeren Jamir, stated that the team apprised the chief minister about the problems and grievances faced by the Naga law aspirants because of lack of Government Law College in the state. The team reminded Dr. Shürhozelie that it was imperative for the government to take note of the inequity and take immediate measures.
NLSF also reminded the chief minister to look into the matter of ongoing High Court construction at Meriema as Nagaland was yet to have an independent and separate High Court for effective delivery of justice to the citizens.
On establishing Government Law College, NLSF said Dr. Shürhozelie assured to refer the matter to higher education department for needful action at the earliest. NLSF stated that the chief minister also expressed concern over separate High Court and informed NLSF that the federation high court construction was on the process and assured that he would look into this matter seriously and take the necessary action.
