SENAPATI, JUN 9 (NPN): Naga mothers’ Association (NMA) and Global Naga Forum (GNF) from Kohima visited Senapati on June 9 and jointly carried out a humanitarian relief mission to the affected Naga families during this conflict in Manipur.
Naga women’s union Manipur team led by its president Ch. Priscilla Thiumai received the visiting team and had interaction at its office Senapati.
Vilanuo Angela Yhome, President Naga mothers’ Association in her address highlighted that they came for charity and relief mission to the affected Naga families. She said that they also came to show thier concern and solidarity during this hard and testing time. Stressing on dealing with this present situation in the state, Yhome called for peace and reminded everyone the purpose of God in life. She expressed her condolences for the lost lives and said they are also share the pain and sorrow with bereaved family members. She challenged the Naga women to be courageous and be strong during this hard time and be the agent of peace.
Dr. Rosemary Dzuvichii, advisor NMA and co-covenor GNF in her address said that Naga mothers shared the pain and suffering of the neighbours. She lamented the delay of delivering justice to the 6 missing Naga brothers and stated that unless justice is delivered cycle of violence will continue.
She shared her concerned and said that Kuki people have being suffering so much aftermath the May 3 2023 incident, however again violence with the neighbours. She appealed the Kuki brothers to think seriously and live in peace with the neighbours. Co- convenor GNF said that whoever it may be must care for the coming up generations and see the best interest of the people.
Apeuna Iheilung president Zeliangrong Mipui organization Peren Nagaland also address the gathering.
Sarah Nuh former vice president of NMA and peace team in her address appealed women to pray more over the present situation and reminded them that they are not alone but thier prayers are with them. She warned that such conflict is like contiguous diseases and would spread to other places. The delegation team include Petekhrieu Tase a research scholar.
The relief materials, including rice, potatoes, food items, clothing and other essential commodities jointly contributed by NMA and GNF.
