Responding to the clarification sought by the Nursing Staffs of Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital (DMMDH), Wokha, Nagaland Medical Council (NMC) stated that the council had in no way alleged the nursing staff of any irregularities.
In a press note, NMC deputy registrar Dr. Kevihulie Meyase said that the report was based on the observation of the council which was sent to the government for information to take remedial measures.
NMC said, the sentence in the council report to the government says: “When the nursing staff were question about sincere and honest attendance of the doctors in the hospital, they were reluctant to give their comments”. The council said it simply assumed of their reluctance to have the same problems of the doctors. “The Council at no time alleged of their dishonesty and questioned about their sincerity”, NMC said, while expressing regret for the misunderstanding and communication gap.
Correspondent clarifies: Apropos the news item ‘6 private clinics in Wokha under scanner’, according to the NMC report, it states– “when they questioned the nursing staffs about the sincerity and honest attendance of the doctors in the Dr. Motsuo Memorial Hospital, the nurses were reluctant to give any comments and said perhaps they suffer from the problem in the area of duty” and not as published. The correspondent expresses regret for the error made inadvertently with regard to nursing staff.
