NMC stresses ethical practices for doctors

Dimapur:

Nagaland Medical Council (NMC) has reiterated the mandate for registration of all allopathic doctors and timely renewal of registration every five years as required by law.
During its visit to Phek on May 1, the NMC team led by president Dr. Puse Liegise, along with executive members Dr. Vikeyie, Dr. Kezhalezo Angami and registrar Dr. Kevilhulie Meyase, held a meeting with the medical fraternity at the CMO conference hall. The team was accompanied by CMO Phek, Dr. K. Chitale Hiese, and also called on deputy commissioner Rhosietho Ngouri in his office chamber.
In the interaction, Dr. Liegise briefed doctors on the functions of the Council and stressed the importance of ethical practices and compliance with the Nagaland Health Care Establishment Act. The Council further stated that organisers of medical camps involving doctors from outside the state must obtain prior approval from the District Health Authority.
The team also visited the District Hospital, appreciated the facilities available, and suggested rational placement of specialist doctors in the district to ensure effective healthcare delivery to the community.
