NMDA flays drug trafficking by medical store owner

Nagaland Medicine Dealers’ Association (NMDA) has expressed deep anguish over the alleged drug trafficking by Hassanuddin alias Hasan Mamu, proprietor of a medical store at Murgi Patti, here.
Condemning the illegal activities of Hassan Uddin, NMDA said it was confident that the law would take its own course of action.

Nagaland Medicine Dealers’ Association, through its media cell joint secretary Arijit Sharma, said that the association had time and again apprised the government that online pharmacies were the main cause of drug trafficking, illegal drug transportation.
It also pointed out that anybody could get any psychotropic drug with false prescriptions from online drug agencies.

In this regard, the association once again strongly appealed to the state government to stop the online medicine business.
“We would like to inform that if we sell any psychotropic or controlled drug, we have to maintain register of sale/purchase, whereas the online pharmacy has no accountability of supply, which is also a source of drug trafficking,” the association stated.
Registration: Meanwhile, the Nagaland Medicine Dealers’ Association has directed all legal drug license holders who have not yet registered as members of the association to do so within 15 days.
