Expressing concern over the higher rate being charged by private pathological laboratories for dengue test, the Nagaland Medical Dealers Association (NMDA) has asked the private laboratories to cut down the rates to make it affordable by all citizens.
In a statement, NDMA general secretary Birendra Sharma said that it has come to the knowledge of the association that some private laboratories were charging Rs. 800 per blood test for dengue fever. It therefore, urged the drug controlling authorities to take up the matter and control the rate.
Also, expressing concern on the prevalence of dengue viral in the state, especially in Dimapur district, the NMDA has urged the department of Health and Family Welfare to provide dengue test kits in Civil Hospital and other dispensaries.
